Last week, Ikano Power Center (IPC) has become the new venue for this year GBWC in conjunction with Gunpla Expo which is the first time been held in Malaysia. I was only able to attend in the last day of this event because been busy with my assignments (atleast get a week of holiday this week…).
Getting there by public transport is not much a challenge than i first thought it was since we just use LRT to Kelana Jaya and take a RapidKL bus (since we miss the Shuttle bus) to IPC but need to cross the busy road. Then it was a matter of finding the expo area which is confusing at first since we went from the back door and it held a level above us. When i got there, the whole area is pack with people looking at the displayed kits and GBWC entries plus with people non stop buying kits XD. Bit disappointed that they don’t do discounts there since the kits price is about the same as with other hobby shops in the area but many people aiming for the exclusive kits that this expo brings but it all been sold out when i got there :(.
The event area certainly a bit bigger than the ones in Sg Wang but i don’t really like the layout of it since it feel much more cramped especially at the stage area where it just too packed. Then the display cabinet they use for the contested have gaps between the glass and the cabinet which people can get to touch the display if it was close enough plus the area located beside one of the mall entrance which make the display glass glare which not helping when taking pictures of the entries.
Anyway, the display they have here is very exciting especially the Sazabi ver Ka which certainly look better in first hand but look very glossy, just don’t like the front leg cover which look too long for my liking. There also have the Thunderbolt kits which i really looking forward to and the F91 prototype is here as well with the All Gundam Project lineup.
They also have the Gundam Build Fighters display with they showing the first episode on top of it. Personally haven’t watched it yet because of my crappy internet speed that i got the last few weeks. In term of the kits tho, i personally like the Gundam X Maoh but the Build Gundam MK II is not bad looking either, the rest so far is meh.
The new Wing Zero Proto certainly look awesome but i feel it need more grey on the armor especially that empty skirt armor. Also i notice it have some blue tack on the hand which certainly concern me on how good it can handle it’s twin buster rifle. The RG Strike Freedom certainly look much better than it’s PG counterpart in my opinion because it show more of it’s gold innerframe but like the PG it have the different gold color on each section.
The displayed expo kits which some of them on sale there.
They also bring two unicorn statue, the 3D display booths and a 1/1 hand to the event!
Now onto to the GBWC winners! (Also sorry for the not good looking pictures since i try to remove the glare as much i can plus this not really a full list of the winners since i pretty sure i miss some of them but can’t remember who)
Now time to spam entries pictures!
